Ray Rice is back on the field but he is not playing, but giving out some advice on life. Two years after being released by the Ravens Rice spoke to the team’s rookies about life lessons.
“Rice delivered an important message that included his story , both the good and the bad,” the Ravens said in a statement. “He clearly had the attention of out rookies.”
It is believed that this is the first time the Rice has been at the Ravens facility since the crazy split between him and the team. Rice was cut from the team after a video was released of him hit his then-fiancee, Janay. The video was of an incident between the couple in an Atlantic City casino hotel elevator.
In March of 2015, Rice received $1.588 million from the Ravens as a part of a settlement in his wrongful-termination grievance.
Rice has not played in the league since the video was released. Wednesday when Rice spoke to the rookies his wife Janay accompanied him. She is also carrying their second child and his 26 weeks pregnant.
Rice is still in the Ravens history book. The three-time Pro Bowler helped the Ravens win Super Bowl and remains the franchise;s all-time leader in yards from scrimmage (9,214).
Owner Steve Bisciotti said, “I believe in my heart that Ray would be a great addition to us when it comes to trying to steer these guys from young men to grown m
en,” this was back in September 2014 when Rice was first cut.
Now Rice is giving advice about life off the field, I wonder if will he ever be able to lace them back up and get on the field and teach those lessons as well.
