The last game of the season. This is what we all have been waiting for and this it what it all comes down to. Who wants it more? Who will leave it all on the field?
How to beat the Panthers?
You need to do three things to beat the Panthers. One control the game clock. Two do not and I repeat do not lose the turnover battle. For three, the most important but the hardest thing to do put pressure on Cam Newton.
Those sound very obvious but they are hard to do against the Panthers. The Panthers hold the ball for an average of 32:03 per game. This is mostly because Newton is so big and so good at using his feet and fighting for extra yards. Like he did one time against the Atlanta Falcons when he ran through multiple defenders to convert a 3rd and 8. The Panthers are 16 for 29 on third down conversions in the postseason.
They also get also of turnovers, having +20 turnover ratio. To beat the Panthers you have to keep the ball out of Newton’s hands.
Putting pressure on Newton will be the hardest thing to do because he is so good on his feet and escaping pressure. Newton is the Panthers second rushing leader. He has ran for 636 yards that is bananas.
To successfully put pressure on Newton and to slow the Panthers down you will have to do what the Seahawks did in the second half. They put the Panthers in predicable situations. They wanted to run the ball then get stopped and then had to throw on third and long. On those third and long plays the Seahawks would bring a heavy rush and got into the back field and throw off Newtown’s timing.
How to beat the Broncos?
Manning has changed his game to where he is throwing more short passes dew to his old age. Keeping the pressure short and tight so Manning will have to run the ball or throw it away. Manning lives in the pocket, the Panthers are going to have to make that pocket fold. The Panthers and the Broncos are the two best defenses in the league right now.
With that being said Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware are going to bring the thunder. The Broncos have sacked a quarterback 52 times during the regular season and was a nightmare for Tom Brady. The duo of Miller and Ware is going to be tuff because they are so good of coming off the edge.
Like I said earlier Newton is really good on his feet so Ware and Miller will have their hands full as well.
I would like for Manning to end his career on a high from a Super Bowl win, but Newton is just so powerful and his offense is so good. This battle will go do in the books as one of the greatest games in history.
Panthers 24 – Broncos 21
This is going to be a close game and that will be the best thing. I’m a firm believer in offensive fills seats and defense wins games but offense will win this game. Both defenses are amazing and will throw everything they have and Manning and Newton.
This game will go down to the offense and who can move the ball. The panthers have the highest scoring offense in the league averaging 31.2 points per game. The know how to move the ball the Broncos are going to have to find a way to stop Newton late in the fourth to winch game if now he will run for a first down that will lead to a field goal. You heard it here first.
