The Minnesota Vikings announced Tuesday that they have restructured the final three years of Adrian Peterson’s contract. The restructured contract gives the running back some additional security.
The terms of the deal were not released. While sources have confirmed that Peterson is now guaranteed $20 million (13 million in 2015 and $7 million in 2016). He has a $5 million roster bonus due in March of 2016.
Peterson’s deal, which runs through 2017 and was scheduled to pay him $12.75 million in 2015, previously had no guaranteed money in the final three years.
