If you didn’t already know that Jason Pierre-Paul the defensive end for the New York Giants had a firework accident over the Forth of July weekend. You do now.
Wednesday Pierre-Paul had his right index finger amputated as a result of the accident. Even though with a missing finger he still plans to play this season. Stating that his return being “sooner than people think.” Along with his index finger Pierre-Paul suffered some damage to his right thumb as well, which is expected to take longer to heal that his amputated finger. Overall both hands suffered some damages.
Pierre-Paul is a big player on the defensive side of the ball that the Giants cannot afford to lose.
While Pierre-Paul is not the only NFL star to be injured by fireworks this year. Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback C.J. Wilson also has to have some treatment done to his hands from the injuries that the fireworks caused. He lost two fingers from the accident.
