One suspension after another, San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates has been suspended the first four-games of the 2015 season for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Gates is eligible to return to San Diego’s active roster Oct. 5 after the Week 4 game against the Cleveland Browns.
In a statement Gates said he unknowing took a banned substance, but he did admit to taking supplements this offseason and accepts the consequences.
Gates is not expected to appeal the suspension.
